Calvert B. Cottrell Family Tree
C. B. Cottrell's inventions vastly improved the capability and speed of the printing press which resulted in Mr. Cottrell being recognized as a leading inventor. He had over 100 American and foreign patents.
C. B. Cottrell & Sons had a worldwide reputation for manufacturing fine printing presses. In the late 1800s and early 1900s most magazines and periodicals were printed on a Cottrell press. In 1953 the C. B. Cottrell & Sons company was acquired by Harris-Seybold - now the Harris Corporation.
The C. B. Cottrell family was responsible for researching the Nicholas Cottrell family tree and provided the genealogical outline of the Cottrell family that was used in "A Brief Sketch of Cottrell Family History" which was the starting point for this Carl C. Cottrell family history website.
