Cady Land Map

The below map shows the location of Cady owned land as of about 1890. The first record of land purchase was by Jacob Cady in 1857. The three sons of Jacob Cady, Philander, Benjamin, and Atemus also owned land in the Poygan Lake swamp/marsh area. The swamp/marsh grass was used for hay and they probably hunted goose and duck there.

The Cady land area, about 3 miles south of Poy Sippi, was once known as Cadyville. It is now called Fountain Valley. There is a creek that runs west to east allong the north side of the 110-acre Jacob Cady land that was known as Cady Creek. By the early 1900s the only land still in the Cady family was the 10 acres were Carl and Myrtle (Cady) Cottrell lived. After both Carl and Myrtle died their land was sold to a neighbor. The house is now used as a rental house.

A record of the other Cady land records has not been found.
